I actually read the first book for free. I then went looking for the second and stumbled upon the box set, I decided it was a better deal and totally worth it. I'm just about finished with the second book and, l love what this author has come up with. I really love how the author has continued the story by writing each book about the different family members. It's a funny and entertaining read and just when I think I might know how it will all go down I'm thrown for a loop. I'm constantly talking about the books to people I know and telling them they have to read them. I'm normally a person who reads fantasy but this author has done the impossible and made me like mystery.Product details

I downloaded the first story 'Scuse Me While I Kill This Guy when it was a free download. It was well worth it. I loved it and I love the other 4 books. Each book is told from the point of view of a different member of the Bombay family of assassins. She pulls it off wonderfully. Each character is also present in the other books.
The characters are awesome. There is action, romance, humor. All of the books somewhat have the same plot line, assigned to kill someone and in the process finding their true love and family discord. Some other books I might find that a bit offputting, but it works great in her stories.
This has definitely become one of my favorite book series.
This is a funny series, it is light and a quick read but can keep your attention without being too serious. Author has developed the family enough that I will continue with the series. This is a great series if you are looking to unwind from reality and relax. Every book will have you laughing while you try to figure out what is going to happen next.
Unbelievably funny. The quotes at the beginning of each chapter are worth the price of the set. I have soooo enjoyed these books. Please note that all typos discussed in early reviews were fixed by the time I read this set of books in February 2013. I will definitely look for this author again. Leslie Langtry must have a very strange way of looking at life and it comes out in these hilarious stories. I'm a quiet person and my normal "out loud" laugh is a bit of a chuckle, but each of these books about Virginia, Dakota, Liverpool, Mississipi, Coney Island, and all other the other place-named Bombays made me laugh out loud (thereby, unintentionally, scaring my dog!).
First I don't like to give anything away about the stories.
The Bombay's are a family of assassins and have been for the past 4000 yrs or so. If you are a blood relative, then you will become an assassin or die. If you marry into the family, male or female, you must change your last name to Bombay. The children are all named after countries, states, cities, etc. The cousins that we read about are fun and funny. Despite being assassins, they live normal lives, just like the rest of us, except for the rather large trust funds that each has. The assassin business has paid well over the years. They find themselves in precarious situations, and the fun begins. Despite the sometimes poor editing, I enjoy these books a lot. I tend to pick them up and read the next when I need a good laugh.
I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!! This has been on my wish list for months cause I live on a tight budget, but as soon as the price dropped....it was mine. And I was not disappointed. It took me two days to finish them all but the laughs and smiles that these books brought was worth the wait. Any one who reads these will enjoy every minute spent on them. I don't believe in giving away plot in a review, but needless to say Gin and Dak where my favorites. Take the chance and sit back and enjoy this crazy family and the way they explain their lives to the "normal" person. This is what happens when you channel your crazy family and all your relatives into a book series. Some of these characters remind me of my own family...maybe that's why I LOVE these books sooo much. Thank you Leslie Langtry for an awesome and enjoyable read that is now a permanent fixture on my kindle!!!!

I used to hate doing book reports.Had I been given stories like these I would have been in Heaven. I had already gotten the first one "'Scuse Me While I Kill This Guy" and was completely hooked. Read it straight through to the end. I came across this set and while I now have 2 of that title I also have the rest! I have been reading non stop and just finished them today. No one, but NO one has ever gotten me hooked like that before. Action, mystery, thriller, suspense, romance (ahhh, yes! But done so nicely and not over done.) I have laughed, sat here and read and shook my head at the antics and comments between the character and reader, and as each story completed its journey I could sigh, hating it ending but felt good at the way it ended. I am definitely a Leslie Langtry fan for good.
This has to be the all time best story line ever. I expected blood and gore and all the usual things one would think with assassins, but this, this was something so awesome I am still smiling, YES SMILING, from ear to ear.
The Bombay's are probably the most amazing, funny, dysfunctional family of assassins the world has ever seen. The are deadly, but it is so hard to not like them and not enjoy this series. It follows several of the members of the younger Bombays, who by the way train to be assassins from the age of 5. So, imagine if you will trusting your family's business of assassinations to a bunch of 5 years olds. Not mine. Every one in the world would know what we did. The walls have ears would have nothing on mine. They'd have been screaming it from the kindergarten "show and tell" before the blood oath dried on the ledger.
If you are looking for a truly amazing original story line than you absolutely must read this book. It is a series of 5 storys in a set and It is WONDERFUL. It follows, they are all state names or cities, Virginia, Paris,Dakota, Coney (Island), Mississippi (Missi) during their hits. I am telling you it is sometimes so funny to listen to them talk about this that you almost are giggling as you read.
BUY BUY BUY And Enjoy this most Entertaining and Funny family saga that has been in the making for 4000 years.
